SiteSteward is a company that provides practical web based solutions for its customers. We're not just a web hosting and development company, we are a company that is genuinely interested in your success. Easy words to say, however we prefer to let our actions speak for themselves.
For example. Where other developers provide you with a web site and make changes as you need them, we empower you (with our DIY Capability). Where other developers provide you with an ecommerce site (we do those too), we enable you to sell products on the internet without the need for a large cash outlay and significant time investment. For those who need it, we even have a plan for getting a complete site up and running with amazing speed, without being a cookie cutter or template solution. Those are just a few examples of where we look for what we call, "Success Solutions." Now here is a little more about our history and where we are going.
SiteSteward began in 1989 as AOI Computer Services. Originally a consulting firm that provided database, desktop publishing, networking topologies, computer configurations and training solutions. We were also very involved in early communication systems, some may remember as Bulletin Boards.
In 1993 the Internet became a tool for the rest of us and not just universities and the military. It was only a year later when we partnered with another local company to put up our first web server. Back then web hosting was about $70 a month and web sites typically sported a grey background with lots of cute animated gifs.
We continued to grow and develop as our focus leaned more and more toward helping customers use the internet as a tool for a wide variety of needs. So much so that we decided that it was in the best interest of our customers that we focus strictly on internet solutions. While the other aspects of our business provided us with vast experience, which we leverage even today, we know our customers count on us to be there when they need us, not off helping someone with some computer problem.
After 16 years in business our customer base had grown to the point where we needed to expand our staff and resources and we incorporated in 2005 as SiteSteward, Inc. The name change was important as it better describes what we do. What's that you may ask? "We make Great Stewards of your Web Site." We do that in two ways. First if we develop or host your site or provide you with a web based solution, we make Great Stewards of your web site. Second, through our DIY Capability, we empower our customers (if they want to be empowered) and teach them how to become Great Stewards of their own web site. Either way, we make Great Stewards of your web site.
Its now 2007 and the internet frontiers are more confusing than ever for someone not versed in all the technology. We won't ever profess to know it all. We always feel it is important to constantly keep learning, growing and changing. That's why we are confident we can provide you with the right solution for you. Everyone is not the same and we want to learn about each customer's individual needs, to be able to adapt with them as their needs change and to speak with customers in terms they understand. In other words, we don't speak Greek but we do speak geek and you will never need a translator with us.
